the days leading up to this week have been filled with a mixture of excitement and anxiety, the excitement of completing a project we have been working on for 6 months, and the anxiety of wondering whether it is good enough. coming into this project, i didn't have the highest hopes, and i had the gut feeling that i won't enjoy working on this kind of project, but it turned out to be a fun experience i will always look back on.
i ended up being a lot more proud of the film than i anticipated, along with the great teammate i had and the amount of work we got done. i have never worked on 2 characters before, as well as assets for the environment, so i am happy with the skills i have acquired in this rather short amount of time.
waking up for the morning classes was a tedious task, but the classes themselves were rather enjoyable, getting the chance to talk to others and engage in class activities was something we need during this outbreak. i would have preferred being on campus for sure, as talking face to face is much better than an online meeting, but i really enjoyed the classes, and i would confidently say i will miss them. working with a good teammate was a breath of fresh air, i've had quite the struggle in my past studio experiences, but Dalia has proven to be a very effective teammate, and i'm glad i reached out to her for a collaboration.
granted, the campus had some limitations to our visits, we had to hurry things up and book rooms before coming to class, it's still a new experience for us, but i am hoping that these issues will be fixed in the coming trimesters, as this virus doesn't seem to be letting go just yet. one thing that could help with this issue is limiting the amount of students on campus rather than the time they are there, as there has to be room for errors and they need to be given time to fix those errors.
during this week, our work was made up of adjustments and submissions, we finalised our documents and arranged our folders to make sure everything is in placesubmissions have been taken care of, we are constantly tweaking our work to make sure everything is perfect. with that said, this is the end of this experience, it has been a blast, and i hope to work on something like this again some time.
