So i just got done with compositing the mock shoot and i am just about done with the concept art, i need to get some approvals from my lecturer before i can move on to the production stage! After talking to my lecturer and taking some notes from him, i had to make some changes to my shoot, nothing too major, just fixing up the ending and making it more appealing. He advised me to elongate the ending to give the viewers a better understanding of what’s happening in the movie. As far as the character goes, he wanted to add some remnants of his legs to make him seem more complete, so i jotted that down and went downstairs to the parking lot to start taking new shots. I got the shots and i composited them really quick to start fixing up the character. on Thursday, we learned about green screens and how to remove them, that was extremely helpful as it makes compositing so much easier, we could film the actor on a green screen and we can skip having to roto him out of the shot! The first half of the class was dedicated to filming equipments that my lecturer uses, they consisted of accessories for his iPhone (like lenses, a gimbal and filters) the tools were amazing, and got me motivated to save up for some. The gimbal was especially impressive because it kept the phone very still while filming. The one of the lenses he showed us made the photos extremely clean and well lit, it also adds natural lense glares which is something everyone is looking for.
I ended up adding the panel lines to the creature and i fixed up the mock-shoot even more based on the critiques my prof gave me.
