My model is well on it’s way, I have the rough draft of almost every detail but it still has a long way to go. The chest is going to be a challenge as it has those moon phase details that will need some trial and error to perfect, i decided to use Boolean to get the cut out of the moon phases, that will obviously need a ton of leaning after so i kept the shape low poly to save myself the trouble of cleaning vertex. Apart from the moons, I had another issue to take care of, there are lights that connect directly into the moon phases, which is going to be an absolute nightmare to figure out, as I need to make sure the parts stick out after I create the inset for the light bits. This week’s classes weren’t very eventful, we just did some clean up in some practice shots and that’s basically it, the week was just full of modeling and trying to figure out how to implement the details I needed without having to redo them a bunch of times. One more interesting thing that happened was I took a deeper dive into the world of Gundams. I took a little trip to a place that deals in Gundam models and learned a lot about how they are structured. This will help further improve my model and give just the right amount of details needed.
