With the worldwide breakout of the Covid-19, we were asked to stay quarantined and not leave our houses unless it’s an emergency, which means we cannot go to our campus to work. It also means that we cannot film in the spots we picked for our film nor meet with our film students, which will be a problem because I don't know how to work a camera to save my life, so this will be a whole new journey. This week is considered a blank so I decided to use this time to finish up a majority of my model. i decided to go to the best guy to use as reference, Arrimus 3D. One video i found that would help improve my model was one where he explains how to avoid deformations https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVRzkk8x4KY , i applied this method around the neck area, i made some panel lines and it helped in cleaning out some.

the video also talks about re-topology which I wont be using this trimester, but it helps to know! As expected, the lights going down the chest were really tricky and took several tries to get right. I tend to save my work a lot so I never actually have to redo things from scratch, I could just go back to a previous save file and there my work is! I don't have much t o report for this week so i am merging it with week 7, which is when we started our online classes. Our first class was about Boujou, a 3D tracking program that we will be using to track our shots and then add our CG elements into them in our 3D programs. It is pretty easy to use, all that needs to be done is to import the sequence, track it, solve the camera and then export the camera solve in the correct size (based on the scene we have), the only challenging aspect is figuring out the size needed for the scene we have, as they vary from 100 to 1000 times the size of the actual tracked shot. As an exercise, we were asked to shoot something quick, track it and implement our characters into it, i wasn’t able to do it that week as i was really busy trying to finish my model, i was trying to figure out the head texture as i wanted it to look like an alien substance, but my professor insists i make it a see-through planet so i did just that, i did however play around with textures beforehand just to see what i can come up with.
