Studio 2 has begun and we have started assembling the teams for the projects, I got placed with a past team member which I’m really comfortable working with as I know his workflow, the other team member I was placed with is a friend of mine but I’ve never worked with him on something 3D heavy. We were introduced to our new lecturer and we got to know some of the tool and programs we are going to be working with (Zbrush and aftereffects) as well as some great new techniques in 3ds max that we didn’t know existed. On Wednesday we got a bunch of posing exercises that helped us understand our models better. I was assigned team leader for this project, it’s my first time leading so it was exciting for me, I was the artistic lead in my past project, so I have a little experience. After a tedious amount of brainstorming during the weekend, we came up with a story about a raccoon that lives in a junkyard and has a toy teddy bear that he wants to protect. The story was great at first, we were excited to carry it out and we wanted to add some comedic situations in there too. We refined it as much as we could for the presentation on wednesday. The first week basically consisted of us brainstorming what the raccoon could be doing in the junkyard in the first place. Considering he was a raccoon. The best place we could put him in was a junkyard, as his species is known to horde and steal things, so he would go around the mountains of trash and collect random items he finds in there. The teddy bear was essentially going to be a toy he finds in the trash and plans on fixing him with other trash he finds. the management plan we planned on going with is the agile project management approach, we gave our selves weekly objectives to finish our work more effectively and smoothly. in stead of sprints however, we gave ourselves a sheet of objectives to carry out.
