Throughout week 11 I focused on finalizing the girl’s rig and begin skinning her. The skinning took longer than I thought, I had to redo her rig because I had to shorten her neck, it was too long and would bend down incorrectly. When I got done with the skinning, I began texturing her overalls and the rest of her clothes. Her overalls required some work, do get that denim look I had to wear out the texture and make it look patchy, so I used substance painter to do so. I got done with texturing the denim overalls and got to finishing the shirt and straps, the shirt had polka dots on it so I had to hand paint each one of them, wasn’t hard but took some time. Apart from texturing, I also worked on the facial rig for my character. I decided to only sculpt the faces I needed for the film and not make anything extra, just to save me time. I faced some difficulties during the rigging part as I found out I used symmetry to sculpt her faces, and my teacher told me it was incorrect and had to redo the faces. The reason to that is that each vertex has a code and when we use symmetry it copies the codes to the other side of the face. So I redid the face sculpts and finished the rig, it worked perfectly and so I carried on to finishing her shoes textures. I also applied a skin shader to her eyes to make them look more realistic, as per my instructor’s advice.
