We approached week 10 of production and I have started unwrapping an texturing the model I so far have her body texture but I am yet to texture her overall shirt shoe and straps for her overalls but I'm moving at a decent pace and I think I could finish them up quickly. I also started bringing the character in the mean time because I want to finish the reading process first as that's the one that worries me but I looked up how to use a cat rig On YouTube and I am using that as reference I'm going to link it in this blog ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32op4Yeki3c&t=607s ) , this will make my life easier and make the process a lot shorter and will compensate for lost time. the Catterick is fairly simple you create a base human rig and you re adjust the proportions to fit the model you have, then you later on save the poses to test out the skinning process. I already did finish her base human rigged model. now I simply need to start skinning and then apply skin wrap for the clothing. the way cat rigs work are a lot more different than regular animation as you can't freeze transform you need to save the pose and then later on get back to it which is similar to freezing the pose. I am using substance painter for the texturing process as I did in the last trimester, I made her skin look decent enough, she has freckles and blush I didn't want her to look too realistic. During my model style I didn't want to give her a realistic skin texture like pores and creases because that would be the purpose of the stylised model. Arcade has a lot of LED lights that serve as the main light source in the environment so we did some research on how LED lights are structured and how to make them look as believable as possible.

LED lights consists of an inside bulb on outside shell that help the light diffuse and soften, so that's what we did for LED lights I made a sign that says the name of the team which consists of the same technique, I basically made the name and then made an outside layer an increase the font size and gave it a little bit of refraction to help soften the light as it leaves the bulb. we also tried not to use mesh lights as they require a lot of rendering time, so based on teachers critiques we took to use v Ray lighting textures as they require less rendering time and produce almost the same result. my other 2 members were in charge of lighting up the scene and they used the mood boards we found of arcades to achieve the right look, arcades don't have many windows as sunlight does damage the machines so it is mostly lit up with LED lights and screen lights. we also used IES lights to achieve the right spotlight effect that comes from the ceiling lamps.
