I decided to compile all the modelling weeks into one blog as it was mainly focused on modelling the character, it is more efficient to do it this way. During weeks 5, 6 and 7 I worked on modelling the girl, I started out with her torso and began on extracting her clothing in the 5th week. I went to class on Monday and my teacher told me the topology on my character was incorrect, her body lacked the ribcage, V-line and knee topology, it also had too many loops. So instead of fixing it I decided to redo the whole character. My teacher gave me tips on how to approach her modelling stage, and I followed his instruction, letting go of the old way we used to do it in our earlier days. So with his instructions in mind and some body references for the girl I got from google, I restarted the process of modelling her body. It took me easily 2 whole weeks to get her body right before getting into her clothing and head. There were many things I had to learn about 3D anatomy and I did learn it with the help of my instructor. While working on the kid, I was also working on a freelancing project for my dad.
During week 6, I mainly focused on finishing the girl’s body and get on with extracting the clothes. Some anatomy barriers did stop me from doing so, but I got them fixed. I got a lot of helpful advice from my teacher regarding how I do work, I tend to use the swift loop option too much and my wireframe tends to become a jumbled mess. I don’t have much to add for this or the next week as this is all I did throughout them all, basically just fixing her anatomy to perfection
