this week has been focused on composing our shots and creating key-frames for the shots as well. key-framing is basically the process of creating the main frames that include major movement, so whenever the character's pose changes drastically, that is considered a key-frame. the process in it's self isn't difficult in the slightest, but it gets more tedious because the file is so heavy that the whole scene is lagging, which makes it difficult to get the right poses without exporting a preview every time.

that said, i did find a way to lighten the load on my scene, as well as creating smoother animations. the method i am using is deleting the whole environment, working on the animation, and then when that is looking good i would bring the environment back into the scene. this has given me the ability to make better looking animations and saved me a lot of time, as the file isn't as laggy as it is with the environment.

my teammate and i were able to finally render out the establishing shot for the beginning of our movie, now that the render farm on campus is fixed. it is very disappointing though, as they faculty didn't believe it when we complained about the farm not working, and ended up blaming us and our files, claiming that we did something wrong. but now that the issue is fixed, albeit 3 weeks later, we can finally get on with submitting our files to render. i do hope we don't run into anymore problems as i don't want to have to ask for help again.

i missed a deadline this week and had to get a strike for it, i didn't want to give excuses as to why i missed it, but the reason is that the sheet my teammate made was very monotone, as in everything was in the same colour. i get very disoriented when i see everything in one colour, i didn't bring it up because i know my professor wouldn't believe me, so i just kept to myself. this is why i colour code everything i work with, to lessen my confusion.

in terms of work, i am doing well, i talked to my teammate about colour coding the sheet and now that that's done, i hope to not come across any mistakes again. i met all my deadlines for the coming day and have several more shot to key-frame for Wednesday, which i will hopefully get done by Monday after our weekly meeting.
