MAJOR PROJECT - week 5

so we started our animatic process, being well into week 5, we had a meeting with our instructor and he approved of our storyboards, which gave us the green for proceeding with our animatics. we also have the green to start modelling, so i have that in my agenda for when i am done with my commissions. i have already finished 11 scenes for my animatic, i would have finished more but this week has been hectic, from one doctor's appointment to another and some commissions i have taken, i was only able to do so much. we ended up dividing the script between the two of us, i ended up taking the beginning of act 2 and all of act 3, so here are my storyboards.

with that said, i have a lot planned for next week, i will be starting the modelling process for my character, which i will be calling Paradise from now on, and i have the perfect videos by my side in case i needed some support along the way. this series called "modelling for animation" by Dikko on youtube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLL3OEv6vd5VA4owAPOI0QdCcEmvl1f3BT is a very thorough process of making the perfect character for an animated movie, of course, our characters will have some extra features but this will be a helpful start, he talks about the modeling of the body, the rigging and even some extra parts a character might need, so i have this link saved.

i am also looking into a good structure for our pipeline, since we have our concepts and storyboards done, i want to have a clear view of the things we have to keep in mind for the future, as i want this film to be the best i have made in my studies. i have been looking into some professional studios that have posted their process on youtube, one of them being Disney's Inside out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-gPD00ksxQ this really puts into perspective the amount of work we have ahead of us. of course, Disney have their own modelling software that helps them come up with their amazing visuals.

i also looked into their amazing new movie Toy story 4's process https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fT_LdcWFHkA this video covers their process from story-boarding to composition, the movie has gone through a lot of stages which we won't be going over (due to the short amount of time we have) like coloured storyboard frames, voice acting and smart simulation (for textures). there is also the mind blowing camera work of the movie which is covered in this video called "the fake cameras of toy story 4" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcZ2OY5-TeM where they simulate realistic camera effects to make the movie more attractive, which is thanks to their photography director.

this week has been slow, i haven't been able to achieve much but next week is a better chance of finishing work!
